Fairhaven Village Militia Evenings at the Fort 
Wednesdays evenings 5 - 8 p.m. throughout the summer.

Come meet the Fairhaven Village Militia on Wednesday evenings at Fort Phoenix.  Talk to period costumed men and women about the fort’s history and life in the 1770s. The Fort Phoenix bunker will be open for tours. 
Single firing of a large seacoast cannon at 6:30 p. m. 

Free. Handicap accessible. Weather permitting. 

*This special ceremony at our May 7 "Evening at the Fort" will honor the bravery of those who stood against tyranny. Experience a piece of living history at the very site where these early revolutionaries took their stand! Join us as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the First Naval Battle of the American Revolution, fought just off our shores in 1775. This pivotal moment in history saw local patriots defending their waters against the British, marking the beginning of America's fight for independence at sea. 

Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 26, 2025 - Parade steps off at 8:30am
Begins on Main St at the intersection of Center St, Fairhaven, MA

The Memorial Day Parade steps off at 8:30 a.m. from the intersection of Center and Main Streets and heading north to Riverside Cemetery. Stopping briefly at  Fairhaven High School for the raising of the BIG flag.

Fairhaven Village Militia Encampment
Saturday, June 7, 2025  - 10:00 a.m.  to  Sunday, June 8, 2025 12:00 p.m. 
Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven, MA
 
The Fairhaven Village Militia present a  historical encampment at Fort Phoenix. Talk to period costumed men and women about the fort’s history and life in the 1770s. See military drilling, flintlock musket and cannon firing demonstrations and camp cooking demonstrations. 

Also watch activities such as spinning, fire starting, tin smithing, leather working, and more. Cannon firing at dusk.

Homecoming Day Fair
Saturday, June 28, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Center St between William St and Green St, Fairhaven, MA

The Fairhaven Village Militia will be hosting a bounce house on the westside (William Street side)  lawn of the Town Hall. We will also have popcorn and various items for sale.

Fourth of July Parade and Fort Phoenix Ceremony 
Friday, July 4, 2025  Green Street to Fort Phoenix - 9 a.m.

The Fairhaven Village Militia will be leading the Annual Fairhaven July 4th parade.  The parade will begin at 9:00 a.am. from Cushman Park (Green Street side)  and continue down Green Street to Fort Phoenix.  
At the conclusion of the parade the town will hold the annual Independence Day ceremony and the traditional cannon firing by the Fairhaven Village Militia. 
The ceremony will begin approximately at 10:00 a.m.

Concerts under the Stars

The Fairhaven Village Militia will be selling popcorn at the Concert Under the Stars.  Various groups and artists will be performing on the front steps of the Fairhaven Town Hall.

Fall Revolutionary War Encampment

Veterans Day Parade
Tuesday, November 11, 2025 - parade steps off at 10:00am
Begins on Main St at the intersection of Benoit Square, Fairhaven, MA
The parade will travel down Main Street ending at Fairhaven High School for a brief ceremony. 


Fairhaven Olde -Tyme Holiday Village
Saturday, December 13, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fairhaven Town Hall, 40 Center St, Fairhaven, MA

Step into a winter wonderland at Olde-Tyme Holiday, a festive celebration in the heart of Fairhaven’s historic district! On Saturday, December 13th, 2025, the streets will come alive with holiday cheer as local shops, churches, and community spaces open their doors for a day of shopping, sweet treats, live entertainment, and seasonal fun
The Fairhaven Village Militia will be selling popcorn and items as well as tending the fires and roasting chestnuts.
