The regular meetings of the Militia are held on the third Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairhaven Academy Building, 141 Main Street.
Fall Revolutionary War Encampment
Saturday and Sunday, September 23 & 24, 2017

Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven, MA
The Fairhaven Village Militia, the Fairhaven Office of Tourism and guests present a two-day historical encampment at Fort Phoenix. Talk to period costumed men and women about the fort’s history and life in the 1770s. See military drilling, flintlock musket and cannon firing demonstrations and camp cooking demonstrations. Try tomahawk throwing or children’s games. Also watch activities such as spinning, fire starting, demonstrations of 18th-Century dentistry, tin smithing, leather working, the firing of a privateer swivel cannon and more.
Saturday evening at sundown (approx. 6:15 p.m.) see a demonstration “night firing” of the fort’s five large cannons. Free. Handicap accessible.
Foxwoods Evening Fund-Raising Trip

Bus leaves former Kmart parking lot at 4:00 p.m.
The Fairhaven Village Militia will be hosting a bus trip to Foxwoods to raise money to fund our activities for another year. Pick up time will be 4:00 p.m. sharp at the old Kmart parking lot in Fairhaven. We will arrive Foxwoods by 5:30 p.m. and depart there at 10:30 pm to arrive back in Fairhaven around midnight. Tickets are 35 dollars for the event. You will receive 10.00 free slot play and free buffet or 10.00 off other restaurants. Tickets can be purchased at Mike& Waynes, 163 Huttleston Ave. or from any member of the militia. Also by contacting the commander Ellie Sylvaria at 508-441-7566 for pickup. Hurry only 56 seats for this great event.
