The regular meetings of the Militia are held on the third Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairhaven Academy Building, 141 Main Street.

Annual Foxwoods Fundraiser Bus Trip
Saturday, March 18, 2017 
Leaves Fairhaven KMart lot at 9:00 a.m. sharp
This fun day begins when the bus leaves at 9:00 a.m. sharp. The cost is $30.00 per ticket. This includes the bus ride there and back, $20.00 in slot play and free buffet or meal voucher. We have raffles on the ride up. Anyone interested in this great event please contact a member of the militia or tickets can be purchased at Mike & Wayne's, 163 Huttleston Ave., Rte. 6, Fairhaven. Bus leaves leaves Foxwoods at 6:00 p.m. for the return trip.

Annual Ham and Bean Dinner
Saturday, May 13, 2017, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Fairhaven Sinior Center, 229 Huttleston Ave., Fairhaven
The Fairhaven Lions Club and the Fairhaven Village Militia co-sponsor an ham and bean dinner to raise funds for the two groups. Meal includes ham, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, dessert, beverage. Spring Revolutionary War Encampment
Saturday and Sunday, May 27 & 28, 2017

10:00 a.m. Saturday to 3:00 p.m. Sunday
Cannon firing approx. 7:45 p.m. Saturday
Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven, MA
The Fairhaven Village Militia, the Fairhaven Office of Tourism and guests present a two-day historical encampment at Fort Phoenix. Talk to period costumed men and women about the fort’s history and life in the 1770s. See military drilling, flintlock musket and cannon firing demonstrations and camp cooking demonstrations. Try tomahawk throwing or children’s games. Also watch activities such as spinning, fire starting, demonstrations of 18th-Century dentistry, tin smithing, leather working, the firing of a privateer swivel cannon and more.
         Saturday evening at sundown (approx. 7:45 p.m.) see a demonstration “night firing” of the fort’s five large cannons. Free. Handicap accessible.


Independence Day Ceremony

Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven, MA
The annual Fourth of July ceremony sponsored by the Fairhaven Office of Tourism includes a brief history of Fort Phoenix, a reading from the Declaration of Independence, the singing of the National Anthem and the firing of the fort's five cannons by the Fairhaven Village Militia. Handicap accessible. Free.


Marion Revolutionary War Encampment
Saturday and Sunday, July 8 & 9, 2017

10:00 a.m. Saturday to 3:00 p.m. Sunday
Silver Shell Beach, Marion, MA
The Fairhaven Village Militia and guests will set up camp in Marion for a two-day historical encampment at Silver Shell Beach. Talk to period costumed men and women about life in the 1770s. See military drilling, flintlock musket and cannon firing demonstrations and camp cooking demonstrations. Also see activities such as spinning, fire starting, demonstrations of 18th-Century dentistry, tin smithing, leather working, the firing of a privateer swivel cannon and more.
